|Estimated Period:||Second half 19th century|
|Country of Origin:||France|
|Condition:||Good condition - used with small signs of aging & blemishes|
French black slate and rouge chiming mantle clock in good condition, commensurate with age. The candle holders are H 23 cm, W 14 cm and D 9 cm.
The clock movement is by AD Mougin. He was a star clockmaker in Paris, and possessed two gold medals from the Paris exhibitions prior to 1900.
There are two small chips on the right side of the clock one (see photo 10) and one of the candle holders has cracked and been repaired at some stage in its history ( photo 14).
The pendulum and bell (and bell nut) have been removed from the movement for transport.
The clock mechanism is in full working order. Chiming is exquisite. I cannot guarantee full working on delivery but i have had no problems so far with clocks i have sold. A service is probably needed as i think it has not been looked at for some considerable time.

I take pride in my pictures and trying to explain honestly the state of each of my items. The auction was "Clocks & Tools for Restoration". I described it as "Fair condition - heavily used & with possibly minor parts missing". When I packaged it, it looked exactly like the photos listed?

Helaas, het object is uit ca. de jaren '70/'80. Wederom een onvoldoende voor de Catawiki "Expert".............Please note: some elements on this page have been translated automatically.Hello
