After his 150th Aerial victory was awarded the Knight's cross.
In the Red Army, he was known as "the black devil" because the tip of his Bf 109 with a black jagged pattern was painted.
On March 2, 1944, he scored his 202nd Aerial victory, for which he was awarded the oak leaves.
From Romania he flew also operations against bombers and Mustangs. He was awarded the swords to the Knight's cross on 4 July 1944. On August 23, 1944, he scored his 301th aerial victory. On August 25, 1944 he was awarded the diamonds to the Knight's cross. He was the 18th Soldier with this award.
The photo is of good quality, size 10.3 x 14.8 cm, made around 1980. The authenticity of the signature is guaranteed. The envelope with which the photo was sent is in my possession.
