Jan Sirks (Rotterdam, 23 February 1885 - Zeist, 11 March 1938) was a Dutch graphic designer who mostly did painting, watercolours, drawings and etches of the Rotterdam harbours, animals, cityscapes and landscapes in a romantic realistic style. Sirks was a founding member of the Rotterdam-based artists group "De Branding". Despite the fact that Sirks was an autodidact, he was one of the few locals who in the art world has had a relatively good existence.
The painting shows a beautiful panorama of a landscape, with sewer and boat. The work is enclosed in a wooden frame with ornaments.
The painting comes from a private collection.
Condition: in a good state.
Frame: framed in a ornaments frame.
Signed at the lower left.
