Gerard King is born in Roosendaal, since being a child he has a passion for drawing and painting. Initially he started with fine painting, but then he developed as an impressionist painter. Gerard manages various techniques, works with oil paint, watercolor, acrylic and pastel. Paints both landscapes and portraits but has a preference for working in nature or in a characteristic village. He attended several painting courses. He followed intensive painting lessons with among other things: J.G. Beernaert (impressionistic city painting, Antwerp); A. v. Ginderen (landscape painting, Essen); G. v Mechelen (portrait painting, Antwerp), School for expression in Roosendaal (model-and portrait painting, graphics); water color cursus (P. Banning, France).
