Amazing Douro red wine. Excellent red wine from the Douro, which is the closest one to the mythical Barca Velha. It is a classic, complex and rich clipping wine that reflects the charisma and remarkable maturity that few achieve. Since its criation, over 40 years, it is acclaimed for its high quality and excellency. This 1984 Reserve has a deep red hue with slight brick-colour hints. It has an extremely harmonious and complex bouquet, ripe red fruits and some floral notes predominate. Also in evidence are warm tobacco notes, a result of this wine’s ageing in top quality oak barrels. On the palate, ripe red fruits prevail, along with some savoury hints (asparagus). Its well-balanced acidity and well integrated tannins provide this wine with a long, delicate and complex finish.
The bottle is from 1984, the last time France won the Championship.
