Honda - CX 650 Turbo - Pre-Production - Framenumber 2 - Handmade Prototype - 650 cc - 1984

This is not any Turbo; This is a handmade prototype, frame number 0002! A unique opportunity, as factories normally destroy prototypes or put them in their museums. You don’t see them on the street... But you do now... You can tell from the imperfect paintwork on the edge of the fairing and the steering cover has been cropped. That’s deliberate! The bike was sold after the type inspection and the press presentation and the customer was not happy with it. There were always minor annoyances and the dealer didn’t know what to do with it. Something cropped up again in 1987 and after 51,000 km, this unique and very rare bike (1600 series), was allowed to age without an inspection at the importer’s warehouse. Hence the large number plate. The stator of the dynamo had packed up in 1993; more of an ailment as we now know. Otherwise this 0002 with block number 0018 could drive as normal. Stator replacement never took place. A big job, but it wouldn’t cost more than 200 euros. This untouched completely original 'zero-series' is perfect for museum directors, connoisseurs and collectors. Not for bargain hunters unfortunately... This CX 650 Turbo is not supposed to exist: the factory had ordered its destruction. Because the importer was the owner rather than the factory, it was up to them.
