Villeroy & Boch vase from the series ‘Flamand Bleu’, made in the former faiencerie in Bonn (operational from 1920 through 1930), just after the acquisition of Steingutfabrik Franz Anton Mehlem in 1920. Blue and white motif with cartouches with trees. The origins of the company Villeroy & Boch are in the French village Audun-le-Tiche, where François Boch and his three sons started a pottery in 1748. The company moved to Luxembourg at a later date where it became a porcelain factory. In 1801, the company moved to the nearby city of Mettlach, Germany. The company merged on 14 April 1836 with that of Nicolas Villeroy, after it became Villeroy & Boch. Height: 32.5 cm. Condition: perfect!
