Clock in black marble, mounted with a magnificent sculpture in gilt spelter representing "La femme à la gerbe de blé & la faucille".
Black marble dial with Roman numerals and ornaments gilded in fine gold.
Thick & bevelled glass.
Napoleon III era - mechanism dating back to 1855
Cog mechanical movement called "8-day" signed D'aureville Paris & Japy Frères - Medal of Honour at the 1855 exhibition.

The bell strikes on the half-hour.
Winds with a key (not provided but it is a traditional key and therefore easy to find).
