Desvres (?) - Figure, Rider on horseback - pottery
Beautifully image of a rider on his horse. Polychrome fayence. Is strongly reminiscent of Delft. Also the signature (TH = Ter Himpelen, a Delft porcelain painter, from ca. 1650) refers to it, but in the middle of the 17th century, there were no such figurines.
Rather, we get to the North of France (Desvres!), where in the second half of the 19th century (until 1900) plenty of Delft products were manufactured, including marks at the bottom. Not to falsify, but purely as a tribute to older examples and the large demand to them.
It is in good condition. Only a superficial chip at the bottom and a mini flea bite of 1 mm on the hat of the rider.
Will be carefully packaged and sent with insurance and registration. Pick-up is of course also possible.
