Large French armillary globe made out of brass, stood upon a wooden base.
The armillarium or armillary sphere is a celestial sphere with metal rings which depict the main celestial rings in the sky.
It was invented by Erasthosthenes in 255 B.C.
It features the Zodiac circle, a protractor, the meridian ring and has the globe in the centre.
Markings:
A Paris Chez G Gobille a Pache Royalle.
