It was made sometime between 1829 and 1833 during the late Edo period as part of the first edition in a series from Hokusai thirty-six views of Mt. Fuji. It is the most well-known work of Hakusai and one of the most famous pieces of Japanese art worldwide.

Passe-partout size: 48.5 x 33.4 cm

Technology: Woodcut Adachi original reprint

(Original Adachi Hanga Reprint) - Adachi seal see back.

The Ukiyo-e is printed on Echizen kizuki hosho washi (a unique type of Japanese paper), which allows the lively colours and soft, warm structures of the woodcuts to come to life.

This work is spectacular because of it's fantastic composition and vibrant brush strokes.
