White enamelled cast iron cooking pot by designer Michaël Lax for Copco, Denmark. Wonderful mid-century design in good condition. Some enamel loss/flakes at the edges, have a good look at all the photos. Size D2, contents 2.6 liter. The top of the cooking pot has a diameter of 21.50 cm, measured without the handles. Bottom has a diameter of 15 cm. Height is 10 cm without the lid. The measurements in the description/lot details are the maximum, total measurements. Copco pots and pans were manufactured by Morsø Jernstøberi (Morsø Cast Iron Foundry) in Denmark. The company was established in 1853 and initially mainly focussed on the production of cast iron wood-burning stoves. The foundry also developed a range of pots and pans in the 1950s, for which they contracted famous designers such as Michaël Lax (USA), the designer of this cooking pot. These cooking pots were a big hit, primarily in the USA, and are regarded a design icon from the 60s. Will be well packaged and shipped with track and trace.
