Katana - Tamahagane - Antique Japanese sword (shinogi-zukuri katana) in koshirae, horimono - Japan - Edo Period (1600-1868)

Antique Japanese sword (shinogi-zukuri katana) in koshirae. The blade with (Suken and Goma hashi horimono) was wrought in the Edo period by one of the sword smiths Tadayoshi and signed 'Hizen no kuni Tadayoshi'. The blade is out of polish and shows fine scratches, clearly visible 'choji hamon'. Length 'nagasa': 63 cm; length in koshirae: 90.5 cm; 'motogasane': 7 mm; 'motohaba': 3 cm; 'sori': 0.9 cm. There are no visible smithing errors, no rust, no chips or cracks, no bends in the blade and "cutting edge" is sharp. The koshirae shows signs of wear, beautiful antique tsuba and 'kodogu' (sword fittings) finish this great katana. Insured shipping (Russia and China are exempted). The sword stand is not included in the auction. I have tried to describe the condition of this item, including any defects, as accurately as possible. I have added many photos of the item, so please make your assessment based on the photos. We've tried to verify the signature as good as possible, the signature on the sword is not verified because there is no NBTHK or NTHK origami (certification paper) present with the sword. To be reasonably sure about the maker of a specific sword, you have to apply the sword for shinsa (inspection) at one of the most important study groups (NBTHK or NTHK). These organisations will judge the sword and draw up documents (origami) describing the authenticity and/or historic value of the sword. The sale, purchase and ownership of weapons is subject to national laws and regulations. Please make sure you are familiar with your country's laws and regulations BEFORE placing a bid. Selling weapons to people under 18 is prohibited. By placing a bid, you declare that you are 18 years or older, and that you have verified that you are legally permitted to purchase such items in your country.
