100 years ago, in 1919, ANCORA started to produce its unique, limited series pens in Italy.
This pen is made entirely by hand in Ancora’s workshop (it has a limited edition number 21/888) .
18K gold trim, vermeil dragon clip, topaz eye.
The mosaic barrel was painstakingly assembled from parts of abalone shell (mother of pearl), a mollusc which lives in warm seas near New Zealand.
The shells are famous for their shades and colours. It has been put together choosing only the most beautiful ones in a type of microscopic mosaic.
This demonstrates Ancora’s native Italian design traditions, it always seeks cheerful, bright and sunny images.
This colourful pen has never been inked and has the Ancora trademark, which includes an imprint of a stylized anchor and it has a piston-pump filler.
The cap fittings include three thin bands and a clip finishing in a rounded triple leaf design (very hard to find). The nib is Medium 18k 1919 750.
This pen was kept as a collectible and comes with a box and purchase documents.
