In Rotterdam, he attended the art academy, after which he received private lessons from Herman Wijngaard. His great love is painting with oil paint on linen in naturalistic tones. He completely masters this technique. He also made plastic artworks for universities. The themes he chooses consist mainly of Dutch landscapes, such as polder and river landscapes with a threatening sky or summer afternoon.
