An exceptionally, fine and impressive Dutch silver plated jewellery box.
The surface of the box is decorated with impressive relief scenes. These decorations were influenced by the Dutch art genre.
Exquisitely decorated silver plated box by Herman Hooijkaas.
The silver factory of H. Hooijkaas was founded in 1874 and was run by Herbert Hooijkaas and later by his sons. Between 1909 and 1924 Herbert was the owner together with his sons William and Andries. In 1921, Andries resigned from the company and in 1924 Herbert also resigned. Until 1943, the company was run by his son Willem Hooijkaas.
