Especially beautiful oil paint panel showing a half-naked young lady seen from the back. This delicately painted piece of art is by the well-known Belgian painter Jan van Beers (1852-1927). After his study at the academy of Antwerp in 1873, Van Beers Valencia left for London and in 1878 travelled to Paris, where he soon made a name for himself and belonged to the sophisticated circles in Paris. His house was lush, decorated exotically and decorated by himself with funny and risque scenes. He received many prosperous at his house (either with or without their mistresses) and also royal figures. At the time, the great demand of his pieces translated into hefty prices and the popularity has always remained the same. Hence, paintings by him easily reach thousands of euros at auctions. That is if you are lucky enough to find a piece by this painter at auction; pieces for sale are very rare. The condition of this panel is excellent with only light signs due to age. It is still in the original, very expensive, frame with a seal of the framer on the back. We estimate that it was made around 1885. Size incl. frame: 29 x 33 cm.
