Salvador Dali - La Danse (Foi, Espoir et Amour)

Salvador Dali: La Danse (Foi, Espoir et Amour). Lithograph and woodcut on Arches wove paper. Signed in pencil (and also signed on the plate). Justified EA (artist proof). Total size: 64 x 50 cm. REFERENCES: - Catalogue raisonné Field p. 192. - Catalogue raisonné Michler & Lopsinger #1139. INFORMATION: Published by Les Heures Claires in 1963, this plate is also called ‘the 101st plate of the Divine Comedy’ because Dali drew 101 watercolours on this topic, but only 100 have been used for the book. This engraving was therefore published in a separate edition. In his book about this edition, Wolfgang Everling indicates that this engraving is related to the end of the Pugatoire, more exactly at the end of canto 31 ‘Faith, hope and love’. In good condition, slightly yellowed paper, with light foxing.
