Ceramic object (1) - Earthenware - Shipibo Art - Shipibo Indians - Peru - Amazon

Shipibo Indians live in the rainforest of Peru. Although they have somewhat adapted to contemporary times, they still have one foot in the past. The Shipibo Indians are particularly known for their shamans and Ayahuasca rituals. These pottery cups were used in Ayahuasca rituals. The patterns one sees on the cup also come back on other objects. They are geometric graphics that are very important for them. Especially in the field of healing (mentally, emotionally,) but also spiritually. Each design has its own significance. e.g. for happiness, wisdom, protection. These ritual cups are hand made from natural clay & dyes originating from the Amazon forest. The cup is in perfect condition and is waterproof. The size is 11.5 x 11.4 x 6 cm. See photos for further information.
