A solid bronze ship’s bell with clapper and rope. The bell still looks quite good because it has over the years been refurbished. There is quite a bit of history on the bell: The bell has hung on so called Kempenaar (540 tons loading capacity). That was built as a tug around 1927. The ship was motorized in 1960. The ship's name was "Elektron" The ship’s bell was used as a means of communication between tug and towed ship. In 1989 the ship was demolished. Not much to add. The photos speak for themselves.
