Signed. "Amerikaner" (gold-plated) - A*D = Andreas Daub Goldplated - bracelet

Beautiful vintage, double gold-plated bracelet with matte and shiny pattern, from the famous house of Andreas Daub = A*D, from Pforzheim, Germany. From 1874, the company was owned by jewellery designer Andreas Daubs. It's still active and still ran by members of the family. The word "Amerikaner" is the same as "double"; this was a process of double plating of an item made before the period of the Austrian empire (before 1865) and provide a life-long shine. It was used because pure gold was rare as a result of the war effort all across Europe. During the time of the Civil War, an American technique was created which was the same as the "dooblay" in Europe, after which it was copied in Europe. The company offered a life-long guarantee for shine on its jewellery and you can see that they really made it happen, because there's not a single bad spot on this bracelet! Will be sent registered with a tracking code, in a gift box.
