Bernard Dufour - (1922- 2016 ) - Barques à quai

Bernard Dufour began painting in parallel with his part-time job as an engineer at Gaz de France until 1954. He became the painter of an abstract work, following the Paris school. In 1948, the Maeght Gallery dedicates him a personal exhibition. At the show in October 1953 where was made a tribute to Picabia, the art dealer Pierre Lœb discovers his painting and signs an exclusive contract with him for its Galerie Pierre, which will represent him from 1954 on. In the 1960s, Bernard Dufour gives up abstraction for a more figurative painting, focusing particularly on the nude, his own body, the one of his wife, Martine, and other female models. It explores the raw representation. Carefully packed and tracked international parcel
