For sale by first owner is this Garrard 401 Transcription studio turntable with SME 3009 arm in very nice condition! Beautiful and super sounding cartridge from Pioneer, PC-50. The rubber idler wheel is in top condition. Platter brake works very well. This Garrard is mounted in an original plinth with a spring disc that needs slight adjustments left behind. Adjustment in the middle stand for the perfect speed. Anti static mat and record cleaning brush provided. The Garrard 401 is the result of half a century of experience in the design and production of high-quality recording play equipment and has the elegant look that is characteristic of the best British technical products. The superlative performance of this model are achieved by properties such as a heavy, balanced turntable with a robust, super finished firmly spindle and a sturdy idler. Any speed can be accurately set using a special current brake system and stroboscopic markings on the turntable that are illuminated by a neon light with high intensity. This legendary turntable was the successor of the insanely hyped-301 but is in every way superior.
