Alexander Begge - Casala - chair (2) - casalino

You are bidding on two Casalino chairs. These Casala chairs have the same production date: May 1973 (see the stamp). They have their original upholstery from 1973. Casala was founded in 1917 in Lauenau, Lower Saxony. Casala gained renown in the 1970s for its Casalino chairs designed by Alexander Begge, which unfortunately have been forgotten in the 1980s but which were newly released in 2007. Originally Casala, named after the founder and birth place (Carl Sasse Lauenau), the company had manufactured clog soles since the year 1917. After the First World War the company broadened its programme, first to wood and later to metal and upholstered furniture. In the 1950s the company was getting better known thanks to its school furniture. Despite its change in ownership, the new Casala stayed the same. The owner is linked to the brand for over thirty years now. The suppliers, mainly from Germany, have remained the same and the technical and ergonomic know-how of the traditional Casala brand have also been retained. Nowadays, Casala produces modern contract furniture with a high durability. Quick operation, flexible application and technical innovations take the foreground. The fact that the chairs not only look beautiful but also have a comfortable sit can be attributed to the company's ninety years of experience in the manufacturing of furniture. Casala furniture is available in over 20 countries the world over.
