Together with his father, Adolfo Aguila and Pimentel, and his brother Adolfo, Luis belonged to a well-known family of painters from Jerez who used to paint traditionalist Andalusian and militaria subject-matters related to the campaigns of the Spanish empire of the time. The author has works in provincial museums of Andalusia and important private collections.
