The engraving has been washed and cleaned carefully where needed and is placed in an new passe partout. Last some foxing spots and age related toning visible but not harming the image. Description: Offered is the only known Red impression in the world of this plate by Rembrandt, made early to mid 18th century, this engraving has an official Bartsch number and can be found in an official catalogue published by the Rembrandt House in Amsterdam, partner of the Rijksmuseum.
This engraving is one of only 22 etchings by Rembrandt known to be printed in Red. It is special to experience an Rembrandt etching in red ink. As said this is the only known copy of this plate known in Red made after the Death of Rembrandt, still far before Bassan, makes this an very clear and pure impression.
