The bowman is a masterpiece by Elisabeth Haich from 1939, On red marble stand. Elisabeth Haich (1897-1994) was born in an upper middle class family in Budapest. Her exceptional talent as a pianist, painter and sculptor revealed itself in her early childhood. After the Great War she became an internationally recognised artist, her sculptures/statues were exhibited all over Hungary as cultural monuments. The original 6-metre-high bronze statue was standing on the top of F Building of the Hungarian Optic Works. Unfortunately, the original enormous masterpiece was destroyed in World War II. This sculpture is the exact reproduction of the original 3-metre-high statue and only 20 pieces were made altogether.
