In the same way as the church windows of Chartres are made of stained glass, this glass sculpture is made of melted glass. Coloured glass has been melted on a base of armoured glass.
Plates and fragments of glass make for a light patterning that is reminiscent of stained glass church windows.
No two glass sculptures are the same and in this way have an expressive effect.
Willen van Oyen designed the lamp for Raak and Architect A. Lankhorst used it in restaurant Dijkstra in Zwolle.
The glass panel is mounted to a sheet-steel wall plate with 2 E27 lamp sockets.
