19th century English silver plated serving tray.
From ca. 1870, made in Sheffield England, hallmarked. Silver plate on copper.
Beautiful engravings in classic Victorian floral pattern. This tray has a openwork edge and two handles incorporated into it. With personal engraving in the centre. The female winner of the international Marathon of Amsterdam in 1980, the Dutch Marja Wokke, became the first in the history of the Amsterdam Marathon to clock a time of far less than three hours. She won in 2: 40.15
