Large Tapestry by Jean Laurent (Limited Edition) Title: Vendange Description: Rectangular tapestry in mechanical point, made of wool and cotton giving both richness and detail. Produced by the Jean Laurent Aubusson workshop in 1980. This limited edition tapestry is taken from the original called Les Vendanges (The Grape Harvest). Woven in the late 15th century it was designed to celebrate the annual wine harvest and we see the workers gathering the grapes for use in wine making. Around the tapestry we also see the distinctive Millefleur style typical of Medieval tapestries. The original of this tapestry can be found in the Musee National du Moyen Age in Paris. The tapestry is lined complete with ring hooks for ease of hanging. This limited edition tapestry comes with a certificate of authenticity. Dimensions Width 190cm Height 118cm
