Very good original condition with its equipment tools and crank for starting. Including spare engine, radiator and various spare parts. Original number plate and documents, same owner since 1978. ASI approval from 1980. Very rare car, 3 existing copies known in Italy.

The Aprilia was designed in 1934 - 1935 as requested by Vincenzo Lancia to replace the Augusta by then an ancient model. The Aprilia bodywork was patented in 1936, it had a good aerodynamic shape for those years and suicide doors with hidden hinges. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder narrow V-engine with an aluminium engine block and a cast iron cylinder head. Displacement was 1352 cm³ with a delivery of 47 hp reaching a speed of 130 km/h. The first unit came out the factory on 24th February 1937, a few days after Vincenzo Lancia’s early death on 15th February. In addition to being sold with a bodywork, the Aprilia was also sold as a unibody and dressed by various coachbuilders who were very numerous at the time.

The car on sale belongs to the latter category and it was bodied by Pininfarina who produced a small series, although the exact number is unknown. The Lancia Club is aware of 3 units in Italy, therefore it is undoubtedly a rare vehicle. I own the car since 1978; previously part of an enthusiast’s collection and stopped in a warehouse for years.

As a restoration in the 1970s, the paint had been refreshed, the seats re-lined and the piston elastic bands replaced, everything else is perfectly original as when it came out of the Pininfarina factory.
