Beautiful work by the famous Dutch painter J.H. Wijsmuller Wijsmuller representing a village street with chickens and figures in autumn light. The painting is signed and in good condition. It features a robust gold plated frame. The frame has some minor damage at some spots, see pictures. Verso: A handwritten label with details of the painter J. H. Wijsmuller and a label with details of the framing supplier of frames to state and municipal museums in the Netherlands. Due to the size, pick up is preferred. Wijsmuller: In 1883 he won his first silver medal at an exhibition in Amsterdam. He could then take lessons at the evening academy in Amsterdam and at Felix Merites. In the beginning he made many Amsterdam cityscapes and later, related to the Hague School, he made many nature scenes and landscapes at Kortenhoef and Noorden, among others. During the rest of his life he won many prizes and works by him were purchased by Museums.
