2010 Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh
Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh a full, soft, late-harvested white, moelleux, liqueur-like wine. These white wines with a high sugar content (30 to 50 grams per liter) also bear the AOC quality mark since 1997 and are mainly composed of the Arrufiac grape varieties (which must comprise at least 30% wine), Courbu and Petit-Manseng. The combined share of these species must be at least 60%. In addition, for example, Gros-Manseng, Sauvignon blanc and Sémillon are used. However, the share of the last two types may not exceed 10% in total.
2006 Château du Fourneau, Cadillac
Wine of the Cadillac appellation is a sweet white wine that is produced from grapes attacked by ‘noble rot’ i.e. the microscopic fungus botrytis cenerea. This fungus, which exists all over the world, can destroy a fruit crop but for Cadillac wines it is a godsend. In order to develop it requires specific climatic conditions.
1997 Château de Rayne Vigneau Grand Cru Classé, Sauternes.
A quality-focused approach for a contiguous vineyard of 80 hectares. The vines are aged an average of thirty years and benefit from their proximity to the Ciron. This tributary of the Garonne contributes to the formation of morning mist that encourages the production of noble rot.
The vine population here is made up of 74% Sémillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc and a small amount of Muscadelle (2%). The wines are aged for 24 months in barrels (40% to 50% new wood)
1991 & 1990 Château Dudon , Sauternes
About the winery:
Family owned since 1868, the wine of Chateau Dudo is currently produced on 10ha. Since 2007, it is an organic wine which is the culmination of a process begun there almost 150 years ago, at the time we totally stopped using any weed-killer in the vineyards. We try each year to produce a wine in which alcohol and liquor find their balance. In recent years, many medals have rewarded our work and encourage us to continue on this path.
1991 Château Bélingard Blanche de Bosredon, Monbazillac.
Presentation of the wine:
This Monbazillac is named in honour of the grandmother of the current owner, who died at 102, has held the reins of the estate for nearly 60 years. This Château Belingard Blanche De Bosredon is a blend of three grape varieties: 80% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon and Muscadelle.
The harvest is manual and the grapes picked up grain by grain, to choose only those perfectly attacked by botrytis, noble rot. This results in very low yields and many passages in the vineyards. After its vinification, this Monbazillac is patiently aged 20 months in oak barrels, making it a very long-lived wine, up to 20 years for the great vintages.
