31 beautiful old Ashanti gold weights - Ghana.

Dimensions ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 cm. It is precisely the "small" weights that are almost always lost.

Under the Baule (Ivory Coast) and the Ashanto (Ghana), Akan peoples, we can find bronze/brass weights that were used to weigh gold dust in commercial transactions, until the end of the last century. 
Weights to weigh gold were made in bronze (9/10 copper and 1/10 tin) and brass (8/10 copper and 2/8 zinc), sometimes with lead or iron, which explains the variations in colour. These were made thanks to the cire perdue (lost wax) casting technique.
