A beautiful Wassily (B3) chair by Marcel Breuer for Knoll studio Measurements Height: 73 cm Width: 79 cm Depth: 69 cm Armrest height: 58.5 cm Seat height: 42 cm The Knoll Studio Wassily Chair is a well-known design by Marcel Breuer. The chair was revolutionary at the time it was designed, in 1925. It is known as the first chair with a bent tubular frame in metal. Marcel got the idea from a bike, which also features parts made of bent metal, in the time he worked for Bauhaus. It fascinated him and inspired him to make the design of the B3 chair. It received the name Wassily later on, when the Italian company Gavina acquired its production rights and they got wind of the story that Wassily Kandinsky showed a special interest in the chair. Gavina was purchased by Knoll International in 1968. The chair became a huge success under Knoll's management, and up to this day it might even be the most famous chair in the world.
