Pre-Columbian Ceramic Culture anthropomorphic vase NAZCA - 16×12.5 cm

PRE-COLUMBIAN CERAMICS. ANTHROPOMORPHIC VASE NAZCA CULTUR Height: 16 cm - Width: 12.5 cm. This anthropomorphic vase, perhaps used for funeraries, is quite characteristic of the art of the Nazca civilisation, Middle-Nazca period, phase 3 or 4, around 300 AD. Its polychromy in warm colours is typical for this period when the art of ceramics was expressed in the most colourful and exuberant way. Modeling and drawing represent, in a human form, a hybrid being, presumably related to the anthropomorphic raptor called the "horrible bird". The colours have retained all their vivacity and the object is in perfect condition (end of the neck slightly chipped). From the collection of a collector dispersed under the control of an expert, the vase was acquired in the 1980s during an auction organised in the auction house of Clermont-Ferrand by an auctioneer. I certify that I have all the rights to sell it.
