Very nice graphically done by Lucien Boucher (1889-1971). Signed in the poster at the bottom right corner 'Lucien Boucher' Print: Printed in France by/par Imprimerie Perceval, Paris. Condition B: light vertical centrefold. Poster clearly used as a book cover. Image virtually intact. Fresh and bright colours (see pictures). Shipping: Folded into reinforced cover with track & Trace or Bpost International/registered. Lucien Boucher became the 'Mr. Planisphere' of Air France, making several of this type of posters and many others for the French National Airline between 1934 and 1962 . The definition of a planisphere is that we see the earth from above, from the sky'. His later posters would round-out things in a more global fashion, as the poster offered here. The continental indicators remain wondrously evocative and the intricate network of Air France conveyors is a clear proof that Air France already spans the world in the Fifties, an era in which the popularity of air travel is growing tremendously.
