This Luftwaffe officer’s sword without scabbard is a house clearance find.
The substance is altogether well preserved, however - as you can see in the photos - the pommel (sun wheel) cannot be fixed, because the thread does not hold. The leather grip shows traces of wear, the central sun wheel on the crossguard is well preserved, the crossguard is made of nickel silver. Blade with central rib and slight chips, the tip of the blade is somewhat blunt.
All in all, a historically very interesting piece.
