On a three-level pedestal, screwed on a green veined marble base, figure 2 wolf dogs with their necklace, German Shepherd type, one lying and sticking out his tongue and the other standing beside him, entitled " Bonne garde " and signed L. CARVIN. Famous animal sculptor, member of the Society of French Artists, he exhibited at the Salons of this society from the end of the 19th century to 1933. He received an honourable mention in 1894, Louis Albert Carvin was born in Paris on 7 August 1875 and died in the same city on 6 January 1951. He was admitted to the École des beaux-arts in Paris where he was the student of Emmanuel Frémiet and Georges Gardet. Member of the Society of French Artists, he exhibited at the Salons of this society from the end of the 19th century to 1933, where he received an honourable mention in 1894.
