Very large solid wood half model of the ‘SERAPIS’, later ‘SKUTARI’, built at ‘BLOHM & VOSS’, Hamburg, launching on 19.04.1890. The half model is made of wood and screwed onto a wooden panel. It was built in ca. 1940 as a shipyard model and hung in the Hamburg office of Blohm & Voss. The panel is approx. 2.86 m long and 0.87 cm tall. The model itself is 2.57 m long! The ship was 2867 GRT and was first underway for the German Levant Line and DDG Hansa and was purchased in 1905 by North German Lloyd. It sank in a storm in 1945.
