Adrianus Johannes Zwart (Rijswijk, 30th August 1903 - Laren, 27th August 1981) was a Dutch painter who painted in the style of the Hague School.

He painted many landscapes and still lives. Adriaan Zwart was very versatile. Although his first work had a somewhat darker tone, his later work was mostly light and bright in colour. He was a productive painter who, among other things, painted many pool views ( in the Nieuwkoop area, for example).

AJ Zwart has lived in a caravan. He got 3 children. Later, Zwart resided in a houseboat called De Trekschuit, which he took to various locations in order to paint various places. He travelled extensively to a.o. Spain and France, to paint. He lived with his family in Meppel during the war. Later he lived in Alkmaar, Voorburg and Woerden.
