Traditional Golok (machete) with wooden sheath, the wooden handle are crafted from a Toradja head, appropriate name, they are used during the death rituals. During the death ritual they are used as a symbol that dispels bad influences.
On both sides the blade is engraved with motifs and one side engraved with name 'Toraja' and both sides sheathed with carvings engraved with motifs.
This Golok is produced in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, which is well known as blacksmiths area from generation to generation and known for its durability and quality.
