Erich Dieckmann - Armchair (2)

Erich Dieckmann (1896-1944), set of two chairs. Germany, 1920s. Beautifully designed in Bauhaus/Art Deco style. The frame with its striking armrests is made of steam-bent beech wood. The seat and backrest are (in original condition) made of braided rope. Erich Dieckmann (see last photo) is one of the most important furniture designers of the Bauhaus movement. His designs are strictly geometric, with almost square or flat wood. For this, he used high-quality types of wood, such as ash, beech, cherry or oak. He also experimented with tubular steel, just as Bauhaus member Marcel Breuer did as well. Height: 67 cm, seat height: 36 cm, width: 57 cm, depth: 60 cm, armrest height: 60 cm. In beautiful, original condition. With signs of wear befitting the age. No shipping! Can be picked up in our showroom in Steenwijk (the Netherlands), by appointment, within 2 weeks. Delivery is possible within a 400-kilometre radius. The costs for delivery are €0.20 per kilometre, with the exception of the Frisian Islands. Good luck bidding!
