This Moon lamp was one of the first lamp designs by Danish designer Verner Panton. The lamp consists of 10 rotating metal rings. Style: Op Art, Space Age, 1960s Materials: iron/aluminium fixture and parts, porcelain/ceramic fitting, 5 m cord. Condition: in very beautiful condition This lamp is completely restored. The metal lamella were professionally powder-coated in the original (matte) colour and it was rewired. Verner Panton (13 February 1926–5 September 1998) is seen as one of the most influential 20th century furniture and interior designers. During his career, he designed innovative and futuristic furniture of a wide array of materials, predominantly plastics, and in bright colours. His style reflects the spirit of the 1960s and rose in popularity again late 20th century. His best known designs are still in production. Panton studied with the other famous Danish furniture designer and architect, Arne Jacobsen. In 1960 Panton designed the first chair that consisted from a flowing piece of plastic. The Panton Chair or the S Chair would become his most famous design.
