Here a sculpture by Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), a beautiful bronze sculpture depicting a graceful undressed girl, carrying a torch mounted in lamp, fluted marble base surrounded by a garland of roses. very finely carved
Signed on the basis "Auguste Moreau" and stamp of the Fondeur "MD- Paris - Gold Medal."

Condition, very good condition, The lamp mount is original, the lampshade, surely posterior but old, is in good condition. Recent electrical wire in very good working condition, delivered with the bulb ( 220 w)...

French sculptor Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), from a family of sculptors, is the son of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste-Louis-Joseph Moreau and the younger brother of the sculptors Hippolyte Moreau and Mathurin Moreau.
Auguste Moreau created mainly art bronzes. Many of his works are located in several museums, including the Troyes Museum of Fine Arts and the Bordeaux Museum of Fine Arts.
