Marvellous Chinese sculpture in celadon jade, depicting
an eagle on a rock, killing a serpent,
in the setting of a pine forest.
The figure represented in this piece has a lofty
importance in ancient Asian symbology; the meaning
of this work is the triumph of Good over Evil.

This is a very precious and fascinating sculpture, far more beautiful in real life
than in these photos; it's heavy to hold and the fine detail in which it is sculpted
enhances the value of work itself.

The colours are natural, not treated.
The stone has a density of 3.33 grams/cm3.
Refractive index: 1.66

Dimensions: 200 x 160 x 25 mm (sculpture in jade - jadeite)
Weight: 854 grams (just the sculpture)

This exceptional sculpture comes from a Chinese lapidary;

Lapidaries describe the characteristics and properties of stones.
These manuals were present in various places and time periods.

The properties of the stones were described in detail as was the power they developed.
The stones were considered as amulets to be kept in contact with the body.
There was already the fundamental belief that minerals were living things, and this is why they were sculpted
with symbols of flowers, animals or divine figures.
These beliefs are deeply rooted in Chinese culture.
The most utilized and tooled stone was jade, considered the most precious and the most powerful
for bringing the sculpted symbol to life, along with the power that derives from it.

The sculpture will be furnished with an international gemmological certificate which includes a code
to verify and guarantee its authenticity.

Complete with wooden base.

Shipping will be via express courier with insurance.

    dear Mrs,
I am sorry, but I only asked her why she reported the broken piece after 2 days from delivery. the piece you saw was very well packaged.
when dealing with fragile objects it is always better to accept from the courier subject to verification. If you want, I send you a photo of another very beautiful Limoge piece as a gift at my expense.
