Coca Buton owes its name to its inventor Jean Buton and to the special ingredients he worked with: Peruvian coca leaves. However, the quantity used was and is low and, furthermore, the distillation eliminates the cocaine molecule avoiding its toxicity. Thanks to its formulation, Coca Buton thus survived the prohibitions.
This wonderful bottle was commissioned in the late 1950s by the Buton of Bologna at the Argenterie G. Galbiati in Milan.
Its shape of amphora is in cut crystal with pourer and base in silver with Sheffield method.
The handle of the bottle is distinguished by its particular shape: the dolphin, sacred to the god Dionysus.
