Archaeological finds Fish Colander/Strainer
This red earthenware colander served to drain fish mid 1600's
This earthenware pottery is made from clay and glaced, just like bricks and roof, floor and wall tiles. As the soil in south-west Netherland, around Rotterdam, predominantly consists of red clay, the presence of numerous pot, tile and pan factories in that area need not be wondered at.
