very rare and unusual putter made by A.H. Scott of Elie Scotland.
The aluminium clubhead is marked with " MONARCH"
D.S.O and a crown with lion.
The sole has been weighted with lead.
Long nose with drop toe.
Hickory wood shaft and original leather grip.
The clubmaker is A.H Scott of Elie,
Scott was a cousin of and apprentice to George Forrester, he became a well known name with his patented unbreakable neck woods in 1894. In 1902 he started (like Forgan) to use Royal warrant as a cleekmark, first the 3 feathers of the Prince of Wales and later (1908) the crown and lion.
This aluminium putter can be dated circa 1915 Very rare and difficult to find.
