Aphrodite of Milos, better known as the Venus of Milo, which is an ancient Greek statue and one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture. The statue was probably made around 130 BC. It is believed to represent Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty (Venus for the Romans).
The original is a marble sculpture of 2.02 meters tall. The arms and original pedestal have been lost after their discovery. An inscription on the pedestal is thought to be Alexandros' work of Antiochia. The original can be seen in the Louvre museum in Paris. The statue is named after the Greek island of Milos, where it was discovered. Source: Wikipedia.
